Dr. Hannah Wollenzien - Founder and Principal Consultant

Hannah Wollenzien, PhD, FACMG is a clinical laboratory director with expertise in clinical molecular genetics and clinical cytogenetics. She earned her PhD in basic biomedical sciences with a specialization in genetics and molecular biology from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. Her dissertation work focused on mechanisms of cellular heterogeneity and chemoresistance in small cell lung cancer. Dr. Wollenzien completed a two year clinical laboratory genetics and genomics fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. She is board-certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in Laboratory Genetics and Genomics. Identifying a lack of genetics experts offering individualized consulting or expert witness services, Dr. Wollenzien co-founded Karyon Genomic Strategies to serve as a trusted, accurate resource for others. Dr. Wollenzien is an expert in the analysis and interpretation of a wide array of genetics and cytogenetic techniques including identity testing, next-generation sequencing, PCR analysis, karyotyping, and FISH, among other assays. Dr. Wollenzien is a member of the College of American Pathologists, the Association for Molecular Pathology, the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, and the Cancer Genomics Consortium.
